Pat Walker biography
Pat Walker is an American journalist who currently serves as a meteorologist for KARK 4 FOX 16 News. He joined the station in March 2013. You can watch weekday morning reports on KARK 4 Today and FOX 16 Good Day. Furthermore, Walker is also the Arkansas Today weatherman during the week at noon on KARK.
Pat grew up in Ward, Arkansas, and graduated from Cabot Secondary School. Later, he joined UCA in Conway, where he graduated with a degree in History.
After spending five years in different jobs, including as a youth pastor, Walker joined the Mississippi state University to study meteorology, where he obtained his master’s degree in geosciences. While at Mississippi State University, he met his wife, Kim, who is also a meteorologist. Together they have three children.
Pat didn’t grow up with an interest in becoming a meteorologist, but the crazy weather in Arkansas took its toll on him. Whether it was knee-deep snow dropping out of school as a kid or terrible tornado outbreaks like March 1, 1997 and January 21, 1999, Walker remembers them like they were yesterday. Pat grew up spending nearly all of his tornado and extreme storm warnings underground in his family’s backyard thunderstorm basement.
Additionally, Walker has worked at stations in San Angelo, Texas; Columbus, Mississippi; Davenport, Iowa; and Lawton, Oklahoma. However, once a hog-caller, always a hog-caller. Pat is a Razorback fan and is excited to return to his home state.
Additionally, Walker received a National Weather Association broadcaster seal of approval. Furthermore, he won the Oklahoma Broadcasters Association Weather Broadcast of the Year. Walker and his family are members of Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock.
