Samantha LaRocca is an American meteorologist working for the WHEC in Rochester, New York. It joins WETM’s WHEC. At WETM, she worked as a morning weather forecaster. LaRocca attended and graduated from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Broadcasting and Television.
Being a member of the University’s television student management, LaRocca created the first weather segment called “Weather You’ve Ever Heard”. Her passion for the weather made her continue her studies in Meteorology at Mississippi State University.
Before LaRocca joined WETM, she spent a year at WLOX on the Mississippi Gulf Coast learning more about the business. She credits her news and weather business for these positions, as well as the many internships she got while in college. Her first job was at ABC7, where she worked as an anchor and reporter for the station’s On Your Side New York segment.
His internship at FOX29 in Philadelphia sparked his passion for weather forecasting. At FOX29, LaRocca had the opportunity to work alongside a talented Emmy-winning meteorologist, Nikki Rudd, who helped her improve her weather skills.
