Ted Pretty Biography
Ted Pretty is an American meteorologist, currently working as the chief meteorologist for Fox 5 News. Pretty can also be seen weeknights on Fox 5 News on the 5th, 6th, 10th and 11th. Ted received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1995.
Pretty got her first job at KHGI-TV in Kearney, Neb, working as a reporter and photographer. He then moved to Pocatello, Idaho’s KPVI-TV, to serve as a morning show reporter and substitute anchor. However, Ted soon returned to Illinois to work as a reporter/anchor on WCIA-TV’s top-rated morning show.
Ted joined Fox 5 News in the summer of 1999 and helped launch the morning show. After 14 years of service, working at 2 am, he took on the role of chief night meteorologist in the fall of 2013. Pretty is the station’s first FAA-licensed drone pilot.
Ted is also the owner of Las Vegas Sky Cam LLC, a company that involves Aerial Drone Photography, Video and 2D Mapping/3D Modeling of construction sites.
