Tony Geftos Biography

Tony Geftos is an American Emmy-winning journalist and former president of the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors who currently serves as a weekend anchor on 13ABC since 2000. He was most recently recognized by the Ohio Associated Press as “Best Reporter, Small Market.” , placing 1st in the contest year 2016, which was announced in May 2017. Geftos leads The Restaurant Report Card, seen every Thursday night on the news.

Tony graduated from Riverview Community High Schooll in Detroit, approximately 40 minutes drive north of Toledo. Also participated in University of West Michigan where he was a four-year member of the Bronco Marching Band at 89.1 FM WIDR, Kalamazoo, as part of the evolution of radio.

Tony began his on-air career on WTVG-TV in June 2000 and is currently working as a senior reporter for 13ABC and co-anchor of 13ABC Action News Weekend Mornings.
