Allison Rogers is a well-known American journalist who is currently employed as a meteorologist at WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Rogers previously worked for CBS affiliate WYMT-TV in Hazard, Kentucky as a meteorologist and broadcast reporter.
She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2015 with a degree in Earth Sciences. Prior to joining WLWT-TV, Allison worked as a meteorologist and news reporter for WYMT-TV, a CBS affiliate in Hazard, Kentucky. Erik Zarnitz, who left the station in September 2017, replaced her as the weekend meteorologist.
Her experience covering extreme weather conditions both in the studio and outdoors made her the strongest candidate to join WLWT’s weather team.
Rogers, who grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, decided to pursue a career in meteorology after witnessing the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This was shortly after Hurricane Katrina devastated his hometown of Long Beach, Mississippi.
Allison has earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seals of approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Meteorological Association, in addition to her Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Meteorology.
