Kaitlyn McGrath is an American meteorologist who currently works as a weekday and evening weather forecaster for NBC Connecticut News since joining the station in October 2015. Prior to joining the current station, she worked as a meteorologist at WCSC- TV Live 5 News.
McGrath is a very polite woman. she attended and graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications and News Broadcasting. After graduating from the University of Florida, she attended Mississippi State University, where she graduated with a Certificate in Geosciences with a concentration in Meteorology in 2017.
With a strong desire to help people, she enjoys being responsible for breaking down critical information and relaying it to viewers. Kaitlyn is always there for them, whether it’s daily or keeping them safe and informed when severe weather conditions occur.
Some of her memorable moments include covering the May 15, 2018 tornado outbreak. When out of her duties, Kaitlyn loves being outdoors or volunteering for community services. In this regard, she is a Community Disaster Preparedness Educator and Blood Donor Ambassador. She also enjoys hiking, horseback riding and running in various parts of Connecticut.
