Laura Elizabeth Tobin is an English broadcast meteorologist, currently working at ITV News, where she presents the weather reports for the programme. Previously, Tobin worked for the BBC. She joined the station in 2012. She was born and raised in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England.
She attended Duston Upper School, where she earned A-Levels in math, physics and art. Tobin continued his studies at the University of Reading, where he majored in Physics and Meteorology. She also took the World Meteorological Organization’s climate course. Laura started her career working for the Met Office and moved on to BBC Radio Wales. Subsequently, Tobin moved to RAF Brize Norton, where she provided aeronautical meteorology reports and briefed Royal Air Force transport crews.
At the end of 2007 Laura joined the BBC Weather Center team of meteorologists. In addition, she has appeared on the BBC News Channel, BBC World News, BBC Radio 5 Live and the BBC Red Button interactive on-demand services found on digital terrestrial and digital satellite TV. Furthermore, Tobin also represented the weather on BBC New at One. In 2012, she was part of the newly relaunched breakfast show Daybreak as the weather presenter. Two years later, the station was replaced by Good Morning Britain, where Tobin continues to lead the programme’s weather updates.

In 2015, Tobin guested on a celebrity episode of The Chase. Furthermore, she featured in the Celebrity Show Drive hosted by Vernon Kay. Later in 2018, Tobin, along with other celebrities, performed an original Christmas song called Rock With Rudolph, written and produced by Grahame and Jack Corbyn. The song was a hit hit that peaked at number two on the iTunes pop chart.
In addition, Tobin returned to The Celebs and sang the opening lyrics of the Christmas benefit song called Merry Christmas Everyone, which was released digitally on December 11, 2020 through independent label Saga Entertainment. She performed alongside other celebrities including Sam Bailey, Anna Nightingale and Frank Bruno to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society and Action for Children charities. Upon the song’s release, it peaked at number two on the iTunes pop chart as No. 1. The following year, she performed for ITV’s Tonight programme. Prior to that, she was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Meteorological Society.
