Leah Pezzetti is an Emmy-winning journalist and American weather geek who currently works for ABC 10News in San Diego as a weatherman and weekend reporter. In May 2020, Pezzetti joined ABC 10News.
Leah is thrilled to be back in her home state of California as a weekend reporter and weatherman with the 10News team. She is a Sacramento native who moved to Central Coast to chase her bachelor’s degree in journalism at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Pezzetti then graduated from Mississippi State University common Master’s degree in Meteorology in December 2020.
Pezzetti began her career as a weekend reporter and forecaster at KERO in Bakersfield, California, where she received her first NATAS PSW Emmy. She then took up the same role at KTNV in Las Vegas, where she received three more Emmy nominations for her work.
She is now in the same position in San Diego. In her first year at ABC 10News, she received another Emmy for ‘Best Live Reporter’ after covering major breaking news events such as the George Floyd protests and the Valley Fire.
Leah has a penchant for filming, writing and editing stories, which she learned through the NPPA News Video Workshop, which she attended twice. She has also been included in several NPPA quarterly music video contests.
