Maria LaRosa is an American meteorologist working for The Weather Channel in Atlanta, Georgia. She works as a substitute weather presenter on NBC’s Today. Maria has been working as a meteorologist at WNBC-TV New York since July 2019.
LaRosa was born in upstate New York, although she was raised in Ramsey, New Jersey. She attended Penn State University, where she graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. Maria also has a seal of approval as a certified broadcast meteorologist. During her time there, she worked as an assistant professor on the University’s introductory meteorology course. Additionally, she is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.
Before Maria was signed to WXIX-television, the FOX station in Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked at KYW-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She subsequently moved from WXIX-TV to join KYW-TV, where LaRosa served as the weekday morning and midday weatherman for the station. Additionally, she has worked as a meteorologist and anchor for WTVM-television, the American Broadcasting Company’s station in Columbus, Georgia.
Additionally, LaRosa joined The Weather Channel and became an on-camera meteorologist for Weekend Now and Prime Minister Edition with her co-host Todd Santos in 2010. Two years later, she left to do the 5:30-6:00 am slot. In addition, Maria also hosted Wake Up With Al from 5:30 am to 7 am alongside Stephanie Abrams, Al Roker and Mike Bette, Morning Rush from 7 am to 10 am with Abrams and Bettes (2010–2014) and America’s Morning Headquarters. , she left the Weather Channel in September 2018.
