The media can be tough, but trust us when we say that people can be tougher. In today’s world, a lot of people talk about body image, but it doesn’t sink in. Body shame has become an integral part of our daily lives, and Tyra Banks and other celebrities have stood up to people who seem to uphold some of these impossible body standards. Take a look at this.

Tyra Banks Shuts Down Her Body Shamers
It is hard for women out there, especially since the fashion industry sets impossible body standards, and it is certainly harder for the models who have to meet those body standards because it is their job. God forbid that a former model should attach some flesh to her bones, you know the internet will break that day.
A decade ago, Tyra Banks beat the crap out of people who tried to take her down, and she’s been preaching the gospel ever since. In 2007, some pictures of Tyra Banks were published in the tabloids, and they carried some very unflattering titles like “Thigh-ra Banks”, “America’s Next Top Waddle” and “Tyra Porkchops”. Well, she certainly didn’t take that lying down.
She put on the same swimsuit, went on her talk show, and killed herself: ” I have only one thing to say to you: Kiss my fat ass! She also stands by the fact that women don’t have to be underweight to be models, she was in her prime a good 20-30 pounds taller than the normal model size. To this day she continues to spread the word and claims that she looks better today than when she was “thin”.
Demi Lovato Shuts Down Body Shamers
Some people get their name written in the “Body Shamer Slammers” book of fame and believe us when we say that Demi has earned a place at the top of the list, some might even say that she has taken a rather aggressive approach to prove her point.
There is no doubt that the media and the general public have taken up her case. Once, when she returned to the red carpet after rehab, she had many people comment on her weight. It turned out that she was willing to do so when she posted her opinion on Twitter. “Guess what? I’m healthy and happy, and if you hate my weight, you’re not.
More recently, she has been known to be a bit harsh when she tries to go beyond her point, from the body that embarrasses other women because they are thin, to the hacking on a fan that sketched her with a fuller chest and a narrower waist. She even planned to leave show business to become a full-time activist, we’ll be looking for her.
Gabourey Sidibe Shuts Down Body Shamers
It’s a hard life out there for those who are clinically overweight, especially if they are public figures, but our girl Gabourey had something to say to haters who made a very failed attempt to make fun of her after she was awarded the Golden Globes 2014.
She went to Twitter to show them she didn’t buy what they were selling. Here’s what she posted: “To people who made mean comments about my GG pictures, I cried about them last night on the private jet on the way to my dream job. #JK.’ If the #JK didn’t end up filling you out, she certainly didn’t cry. Maybe next time they’d give it a miss.
Lady Gaga Shuts Down Body Haters
After the singer of Poker Face gained a few extra pounds, one would think that the Body Shamers were lying in wait. She was drummed up later this year for her performance at the Super Bowl. Some nasty things were said,” said one Twitter user, watching Lady GaGa’s stomach hang down over her pants.
I can understand why Lady Gaga was breathing so hard that her stomach protested her #SuperBowl performance,” added another. Well, she had something to say to them when she went to Instagram to post, “I heard that my body is a topic of conversation, so I wanted to say I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of your body too. No matter who you are or what you do.
She added career advice: “Be you and be relentlessly you, that’s the stuff champions are made of. You can try to put her to sleep over a little belly fat, but it takes a little more than that.

Khloe Kardashian Shuts Down Body Shamers
This list would not be complete without her, because Chloe had been under so much heat for so many years for her size, and what made it worse was that it didn’t just come from within. Her mother, Kris Jenner, was known for meddling from time to time. She often used the reality TV show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” as a means to make such remarks.
Even more, when her brother Rob also felt some of the heat, she went on Twitter and wrote: “What superficial souls some of you are. It’s disgusting to criticize someone for their appearance. Grow up!
