Vanessa Murdock is an American journalist who currently works as a meteorologist and reporter for CBS 2 in New York. She is the station’s weekend morning meteorologist and weekday reporter. She also worked at WTKR in Norfolk, Virginia as a meteorologist.
Murdock began his career in meteorology at Penn State University, where he graduated with a master’s degree in meteorology. She then moved to Central Virginia and got a job as a broadcast meteorologist at WCAV/WVAW/WAHU. Vanessa worked for two years as a nighttime weather anchor for local ABC and FOX affiliates in Charlottesville and loved every minute of it.
She later moved to Norfolk, Virginia, where she spent nearly five years predicting the weather. Notably, she played a key role in reporting on Hurricane Irene.
She is an Emmy nominated, Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) and a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Weather Association (NWA). When she’s not working, Vanessa loves spending time outdoors, running and swimming, and is hopelessly addicted to expensive lattes.
