Tevin Wooten is an American meteorologist currently working as a weather anchor and reporter for NBC News Universal based in Boston, Massachusetts. He joined NBC in June 2022 after completing a four-year tenure at The Weather Channel in Atlanta, Georgia. Wooten also gained further experience working as a weather anchor and reporter for the Arkansas-based group Nexstar Media from 2014 to 2016.
Wooten was born and raised in Arkansas, USA to a Native African-American family based in Arkansas, USA. He grew up as a very smart kid who got all A’s in all his exams. Therefore, Wooten was able to enter and graduate from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. He then graduated with a degree in Meteorology from Florida State University in 2018. Tevin is also a certified broadcast meteorologist. He obtained his certificate from the American Meteorological Society in January 2021.
After college, Tevin began his career as a broadcast meter, appearing on Arkansas-based Nexstar media stations. There he gained experience breaking down complex weather updates into comprehensive weather stories for the people of his hometown of Arkansas. Tevin even spent time working as a meteorology student at Florida State University before his college graduation.
Wooten left Nexstar Media Group in 2016 and joined The Weather Channel in 2017. He then started his job at TWC officially as a field reporter and weather assistant. He was then promoted to morning weather anchor, where he retained his position from 2018 to 2022. Tevin left The Weather Channel to fulfill his current duties as morning weather anchor for Boston-based NBC Universal.
